It’s that time of year – if you’ve been around here for any length of time you know that the deadline to submit for Design Pittsburgh 2018 is coming up on August 24th, but we MUST receive your Submission Request Form by August 17th.  And then, of course, be sure to save-the-date of October 25th for the Design Pittsburgh 2018 Awards Ceremony and Gala at Nova Place.

2018 Emerging Professionals Exhibit submissions are now being accepted. This is open to any architecture student, recent graduation, or architect licensed fewer than 10 years. Deadline to submit is August 6.

Paula Maynes ARE Grant – 7 grants available in PA in addition to a Full Brightwood Architecture Education ARE Study Guide Library. Deadline to submit is August 31.

PALM is back for 2018!  PALM (Promoting Advocacy and Licensure through Mentorship) is in its 3rd year as Pittsburgh’s premiere architectural mentorship program. Each PALM participant is placed in a small group with architects at different stages in their career. Each group meets three times in the fall to share experiences, advice, and skills and to discuss architectural issues. If you’re interested in participating in PALM, please fill out this short survey by August 31st. And keep an eye on the AIA calendar for this year’s kickoff event during the last week of August.

2018 AIA Upjohn Research Initiative Grants The Upjohn program funds up to six research grants of $15,000-$30,000 per recipient annually for projects completed in a 6- to 18-month period. The research should relate to architectural knowledge that can be applied within the discipline. One grant will be dedicated to design and health principles.  Deadline to submit is September 1

Design Competition: 2019-2020 edition of the Pennsylvania Architects PAC Pin Deadline to submit is September 30.
