Associate Member (Assoc. AIA)

Associate AIA Membership is open to individuals who meet one of the following criteria:

  • have a professional degree in architecture
  • work under the supervision of an architect
  • are enrolled in AXP or equivalent activity​
  • are a faculty member in a university architecture program

International Associate Member (Int’l Assoc. AIA)

Individuals who have an architecture license or equivalent from a non-U.S. licensing authority are eligible for International Associate Membership.

Associate New Graduate (Assoc. Grad)

Associate New Graduate membership is open to new architecture school grads for free for up to 18 months from the month of graduation.  If you have not earned a NAAB-accredited architecture degree, you could may still be eligible if working under the supervision of an architect.

Emeritus Member (AIA or Assoc. AIA)

Emeritus Membership is available to any Architect or Associate Member who has been a member of the AIA for 15 successive years, is at least 70 years of age, and whose membership is current (or lapsed for less than nine months). You will continue to receive most AIA benefits without paying membership fees. Contact AIA Pittsburgh for details.

AIA Pittsburgh Allied Membership

A unique partnership is available for those individuals and/or companies that are a part of the build industry, either a building product manufacturer, service provider to architects, or trade association.  Allied Members join at the local level only. Contact AIA Pittsburgh if interested.
