AIA Pittsburgh offers members access to exclusive continuing education opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • Trainings, workshops, and building tours developed by our committees and partners
  • Our annual continuing education conference, Build Pittsburgh, which brings together a community of architects and built industry professionals to engage in institutional learning
  • Procrastinator’s Day, our annual event in December that offers architects who are behind on their credits a chance to catch up before the end of the year.

From engaging with local leaders to programs like Blueprint for Better and events like Pittsburgh Architecture Week, AIA Pittsburgh members are always finding ways to develop energy and excitement for design excellence in everyday life.

Develop new contacts, opportunities, skills, and influence through networking, continuing education, mentoring, and leadership opportunities. Some examples of how AIA Pittsburgh members can embrace their network:

  • Join one of our nine committee to meet like-minded professionals and engage in issues and projects that are affecting the industry today.
  • Participate in PALM, a mentorship program for architects that creates a dialogue between registered architects, aspiring architects, and architecture students. Conversations are wide-ranging, including topics like advocacy, career experiences, goals, and thoughts on the past and future of the profession.
  • Apply to the Leadership Institute for Emerging Professionals, a program that provides early to mid-career architects with the skills and mentorship necessary to be leaders in both their profession and their community.

AIA Pittsburgh members are invited to submit projects to and attend Design Pittsburgh, a signature program of AIA Pittsburgh. Design Pittsburgh highlights outstanding architecture and design by architects in our region. Held annually, Design Pittsburgh features an architectural design exhibition, a juried Design Awards competition, & public voting opportunity for the coveted People’s Choice Award. Design Pittsburgh raises the profile of architects as critical resources and industry experts in the Pittsburgh region and highlights the importance of good design.
