Motional Pittsburgh Headquarters
Motional had a very complex program, which required careful coordination between all teams involved. The 2nd and 3rd floors of the program consisted mostly of office space. The client wanted to create a space that promoted collaboration, but also allowed for privacy and self-reflection. We worked diligently with their team to create a space that not only promoted wellness for the employees, but also provide ample breakout space for formal and informal meetings with the team. The use of graphics and signage throughout the space created a fun and dynamic environment, but we were also very cafeful to keep the focus on programmatic adjacencies and company workflow. The program of the 1st floor space includes all of the research and fabrication areas that are integral to the success of the company. The spaces on this level had to operate very specifically in relation to each other, and circulation and security were critical components that had to be constantly reviewed and tracked. Overall the final space addressed all aspects and requirements of Motional’s complex operation.
