Fifth Avenue Place Retail Renovations
The renovation of Fifth Avenue Place allowed Highmark Health to transform its brand and image in downtown Pittsburgh from a dense and obstructive façade to one of transparency that visually opens the building at the street level, engages the pedestrian and the city of Pittsburgh, and celebrates the Highmark brand experience. A three-story podium that historically is a public space for retail and community events and functions, the renovation maintained this building amenity that continues to welcome the community with public access on the ground level and a reinvigorated retail experience. The upper levels of the renovation transformed the three-story space into the Highmark Hub, a post pandemic response to create workspace that conveys a sense of hospitality and fosters collaboration between employees.
