Each year at AIA Convention, elections are held to fill the national positions of First Vice President, Vice President, and Secretary. This year, voting took place on June 27th in Chicago, and AIA Pittsburgh is pleased to announce that one of our own was chosen as one of two 2015-2016 Vice Presidents. The chapter congratulates Bill Bates, AIA.
William J. Bates, AIA began his involvement when he was elected president of AIA Pittsburgh in 1988. He then went on to serve as president of AIA Pennsylvania not once, but twice. Additionally, he helped to organize the original Prince Charles-helmed Remaking Cities Conference here in Pittsburgh in 1988, and again 25 years later, in 2013.
Bates has held a number of corporate facilities design and management positions throughout his career, including working as the national manager of design for the Westinghouse Corporation and the vice president of strategic facilities planning for PNC Bank. He is currently the vice president of real estate for EPHG, Inc.
Congrats, Bill!
