Private Residence in Mt. Washington
The Owners fell in love with the city view from this Mt. Washington condominium, despite the interior layout which was dark and compartmentalized with dated finishes, inefficient circulation, and accessibility issues. After purchasing the unit, they challenged us to design an interior that would:
– Capitalize on the incredible views of downtown Pittsburgh.
– “Open up” the interior floorplan so that it seemed larger than its 2,120 square feet.
– Flood the interiors with as much natural light as possible.
– Create living areas that were thoroughly accessible so they could age-in-place.
– Integrate display spaces for their collection of art and artifacts from their travels around the world.
