PPG Headquarters and Global Office Standards
When corporate leadership at PPG looked at their tired and dated executive floor and workspaces, they turned to the design team to transform their 1980’s offices into an engaging and trendy work environment. PPG primary goal was to create workspace that reflected their identity and would attract and retain talent. They needed their space to appeal to the next generation. With the future of the modern office being rewritten, PPG with our design team evaluated how they currently work and how they want to work moving forward. Our team designed open and flexible spaces by removing the perimeter offices which allows the daylight and views to be shared by all. Offices were relocated internally and used to divide the open office into neighborhoods. To reduce space and increase flexibility, PPG adopted a free address concept for their open office areas that is controlled through their internal system. The open and closed meeting and collaborative spaces facilitate communication, brainstorming, and teamwork.
