You've already cast your vote in this category. Thank you!
The Design Pittsburgh People's Choice Award is your opportunity to weigh in on some of the recently designed (or redesigned) places and spaces in our community. Architecture is a part of our daily environment and we want to hear from you what good design means to you.
As you look through the projects submitted, ask yourself: Does the project inspire you? Would you enjoy spending time in that space? How does the project enhance or serve our community?
Georgie’s Corner, Bakery and Café, located in the residential neighborhood of Shadyside is owned and run by residents of the neighborhood. The original building dates to the late 1920s and created design opportunities to accent an aesthetic of an earlier era, while also challenging us to upgrade to modern features of safety, utility, and accessibility. The intent of the Build-out was to create a corner community landmark that feels as if it has always stood in this location, providing patrons with a warm, inviting space to gather, dine, work, and create together.
