The Design Pittsburgh People's Choice Award is your opportunity to weigh in on some of the recently designed (or redesigned) places and spaces in our community. Architecture is a part of our daily environment and we want to hear from you what good design means to you.
As you look through the projects submitted, ask yourself: Does the project inspire you? Would you enjoy spending time in that space? How does the project enhance or serve our community?
Gecko Robotics is a leader in developing robots capable of conducting comprehensive inspections in complex industrial situations. Our team’s challenge was to design an office built to expand purposefully over time while not losing Gecko’s grit. Our team drew inspiration from the basic elements that come together to make a city. Conceptual reinterpretation of these elements made the landscape of the Gecko office and allow for future expansion through a simple palette of materials.
