Aurora Innovation 1600 Smallman
Looking to expand its eastern US presence, Aurora Innovation Inc. revitalized a historic warehouse building at 1600 Smallman Street in Pittsburgh’s storied Strip District. The “Open-Road” design concept, inspired by Pittsburgh’s bridges and streets, created an engaging workspace that promoted the company’s innovation while staying rooted in the story of its neighborhood. The project blended historic preservation, community integration, and team-focused design, showcasing a strong commitment to both the city and Aurora’s guiding values.
