The days are getting shorter, but AIA Pittsburgh is finding ways to fit more into them! September is full of events all around town, particularly the unveiling of the Design Pittsburgh 2016 exhibit! Design submissions will be available to view via the online digital exhibit in the next few weeks, with the physical exhibit making its debut at the Cultural District’s Gallery Crawl on September 23rd! An autumn evening spent Downtown, taking in art and design… you won’t want to miss it!
September 9 – Design Boards Due: Design Pittsburgh boards are due to the AIA Pittsburgh office by 5 pm.

September 18 – 22 – Wine & Design: Annual CRAN Symposium: The Symposium is sold out, but you can tune into the action on the free live stream on Houzz that covers content of the event.
September 20 – Target 2030 This program builds off of the AIA+2030 curriculum but is enhanced with vital insights, teachable moments, and lessons learned provided by industry experts. Additionally, this program will include presentations, tours, and sketching by members of the design team to demonstrate problems encountered, explored, and solved through the design and construction process.
September 23 – 2016 Design Pittsburgh Exhibition Opening: Come crawl with us during The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Gallery Crawl and view the works of talented Pittsburgh architects, designers, and photographers! You will also have the opportunity to vote for the 2016 People’s Choice Award!
September 26 – Brownbag Lunch Presentation featuring Kaid Benfield, PlaceMakers: “People Habitat: Eight Ways to Think About Greener, Healthier Cities.” This event, held at the August Wilson Center, is free to attend, but registration is required.
September 27 – ARE Review Series, Intro Session: Join YAF for the annual “Intro to the ARE” presentation, where they will review changes in the exam, as it transitions from 4.0 to 5.0, offer advice on self-transitioning, and share recommendations for how best to prepare.
