This month, AIA National Knowledge Committees announce opportunities to share your work in healthcare and justice design.  AIA National is also there for you if you are making the switch from desktop software to online service.  If your practice works in foreign markets, trade or procurement or if you have any projects at all in international markets then there are several new resources available for you.

Submit your presentation proposal for the Academy of Architecture for Justice Fall conference, exploring the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in the design of justice facilities. Deadline is April 13; the conference will be October 29-31, 2017 in Cincinnati.

The AIA International Practice Committee provides important information to industry members on foreign markets, trade, procurement and practice issues, as well as on the critical cross-cultural aspects of working in international venues. March 2  Pecha Kucha Night Pittsburgh Vol. 26 will take place from 6 – 9 p.m. at Alloy 26.

March 16 Storey Telling at Michael Baker corporate offices with Jeff Murray, FAIA,  AIA Pittsburgh Chapter President, CH2M and Rebecca Schwartz, AIA, Michael Baker International.  Drinks and light fare provided.

March 16 Leadership Institute for Emerging Professionals – Session 7 from 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
at Rothschild Doyno Collaborative.  AIA Pittsburgh’s Foundation for Architecture provides leadership development for architects and emerging architectural professionals. Session 7 – Community Leadership Initiative I Read more about the Leadership Institute. Help support the Foundation for Architecture’s programs and opportunities for our local young leaders.

March 16 YAF Steering Committee Meeting from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Join the Young Architects Forum for their monthly steering committee meeting.

March 21 ARE Review Series – Session 7 (Materials and Methods) from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.  The content presented in this session will be relevant to candidates who are planning to take the Building Design & Construction Systems division under ARE 4.0, or the Project Planning & Design, Project Development & Documentation division under ARE 5.0.

March 22 Architects Action Day from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm. It is important that our members take action! AIA Pennsylvania urges all members to join us during this critical time when the budget is being debated. United we can let elected officials know our services are critical components in our communities. Don’t forget to make your voluntary donation to the Pennsylvania Architects PAC prior to attending Action Day! All PAC donors will receive a Pennsylvania Architects PAC pin during our issue briefing on March 22nd.

March 27 CMU SoA Lecture Series: MAKING SPACE: Five Women Changing the Face of Architecture at 6:30 pm in the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium.  Film screening, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh.

YAF + Pitt + CMU Mixer from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  Join us immediately following the CMU School of Architecture Documentary Screening for a mixer with AIAS students from CMU and PITT. Be a mentor, mentee, or just practice your fellowship!
