Well, the month is certainly “in like a lion”. Will it be out like a lamb? Only time can tell. While you’re wishing for those first warm days, why not consider pulling on your snow boots and coming out to an AIA event? There’s a YAF Building Tour and the next COTE Intensive. Or stay in where you know it’s warm, and work on a submission for PechaKucha Night Pittsburgh, taking place in April at the Carnegie Museum of Art.

March 9 – Submissions due for the AIA/AAH Healthcare Design Awards.

March 12 – Building Tour: Global Headquarters of Industrial Scientific – Join YAF for a building tour of the new global headquarters of Industrial Scientific. The project is comprised of 250,000 sq ft of office, test lab, and manufacturing – all enclosed with a granite rainscreen facade. RSVPs requested.

March 13 – In-Person Beginners Guide to AIA Contract Documents – AIA National will host this live workshop at AIA Headquarters in Washington, DC. Attendees receive software training and learn key features of commonly-used AIA contract documents. $199 per attendee. Includes continental breakfast and lunch. AIA/CES: 4 LU.

March 18 – YAF Steering Committee 

March 19 – Submissions due for PechaKucha Night Pittsburgh, Vol. 20 

March 19 – COTE Intensive: Managing Workflow: A Roadmap to High Performance Design – We all know that sustainable projects have more success when discussed early. Our second COTE Intensive will discuss when in the process to introduce and evaluate sustainable design concepts.

March 24 – ARE Review Session: Building Design & Construction Systems 

March 31 – AIA membership will lapse if not yet renewed for 2015! Make sure your membership is up to date.
