Come in from the cold! January kicks off with our newly elected Board of Directors meeting on January 9th. This month there are plenty of opportunities to get out of the cold such as checking out the revolving exhibitions as part of Carnegie Museum of Art’s Copy + Paste: Hall of Architecture exhibit. There’s also plenty of opportunities to apply for scholarships and awards. So use that extra time in from the cold to promote yourself and your practice.

January 31 – AIA National Elected Officers Call for Nominations
February 1 – Arnold W. Brunner Grant Designed for mid-level architects to pursue architectural investigations that will effectively contribute to the knowledge, teaching, or practice of the art and science of architecture. The sole recipient will be awarded up to $15,000.
February 2 – (Deadline to Register) Reality Capture Workshop. Case Technologies, along with Autodesk and the Volterra-Detroit Foundation will be continuing their AIA National award-winning project to digitally reconstruct and preserve many of the historically significant architectural, archeological and artistic treasures of the ancient city of Volterra, Italy.
