Patrick brings experience on a diverse range of commercial, healthcare and science and technology projects spanning international corporate headquarters, research laboratories and highly unique spinal cord injury care facilities.
Margittai Architects is excited to welcome Allison Huchko as a Graduate Architect. Allison graduated with highest honors and earned a B.S. and Master’s of Architecture degree with a focus in Urban Design from Kent State University. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology.
LGA Partners is pleased to announce the hiring of Gerard Schmidt, RA, LEED AP as a Senior Project Manager. With over 20 years of client-centered architecture, construction, and sustainable design experience, Gerard’s diverse background in the housing market (low income, senior, and market-rate) brings a wealth of expertise, and enthusiasm to LGA’s growing Commercial Design Studio. Outside the office, Gerard volunteers his time with Habitat for Humanity, the Cub Scouts, and St. Bernard’s Church.
With a solid reputation in the Pittsburgh architecture community, LGA is delighted to announce that David Teufel, RA, LEED AP has joined the team as a Senior Project Manager. Having worked in a variety of market segments over his +20-year career, including residential, corporate, education, and healthcare, David will integrate seamlessly into LGA’s Commercial Design Studio. In addition to architecture and planning, he enjoys spending time with his family and keeping up with his kids’ activities.
NEXT Architecture rode in the virtual Tour de Cure Pittsburgh for the American Diabetes Association and raised over $7,000 for a worthy cause.

Pittsburgh-headquartered building design and consulting firm AE Works has been named to Architectural Record’s 2020 list of top 300 Architecture firms in the country. The Architecture 300 lists the 300 largest Architecture firms in the country. The annual list, compiled by Engineering News-Record (ENR), compares companies’ architectural revenue from the prior year (2019). AE Works is one of only two Pittsburgh headquartered firms on the prestigious annual list. Among the country’s over 68,000 architecture firms in the country, the firm is listed in the 295 slot.

Strada celebrated its 20th anniversary on October 1, 2020. This milestone is marked with some exciting news for the evolution of Strada.
Mr. Edward Shriver, FAIA, a founding Principal of Strada, will be retiring on December 31, 2020. Ed was instrumental in the establishment and growth of Strada. He led a number of significant projects in the Pittsburgh Urban Core and many of the North Shore office buildings located between PNC Park and Heinz Field including updates to the North Shore Master Plan. Ed also led four separate studies for the City of Pittsburgh Fifth and Forbes Corridor for national and local developers until the work moved forward with Millcraft Industries.

PWWG Architects just completed another project on the Northside, The Garden Room, for the National Aviary, a sustainable, bird-friendly addition for events and education. PWWG’s design for The Garden Room responds to the National Aviary’s record growth in programming and outreach in recent years with a spacious four-season facility for hosting social and corporate events, and expanding education programs serving community schools, while maintaining safe physical distance.
