The Hot Metal Flats apartment complex in the South Side Works has achieved LEED Gold Certification. Developed by Oxford Development Company, the 117-unit complex was awarded its certification for implementing practical and measurable strategies for high performance in sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. evolveEA was the Sustainability Consultant in the project, helping to determine and prioritize sustainability goals. WTW Architects was the Architect of Record.
evolveEA was recently featured in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, highlighting the firm’s environmentally friendly practices and expertise. Additionally, the firm has successfully completed its first B Corp recertification, which showed a more than ten percent improvement in its Impact Assessment score since initial certification two years ago.
IKM Incorporated has announced that employees Joseph Obritz, AIA and Jason Hindes, AIA have completed their ARE, and are now registered architects. Obritz is a project manager, providing solutions for healthcare, higher education, and civic clients. Hindes is a project architect and has been an integral team member on IKM’s work at WVU Medicine.

Perfido Weiskopf Wagstaff + Goethe has announced that long-time team members Lisa Carver, AIA, Brent Houck, AIA, and Anthony Pitassi, AIA have all been promoted to Principal. Carver has been with PWWG for 10 years and is the first woman to lead the firm in its history. She is a leader in the firmʹs restoration and interiors practices, with special expertise in construction administration, the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, and business development. Hock has been at the firm for 9 years and is an emerging leader in the firm’s technology and LEED/sustainability practices. Pitassi has been with the firm for 18 years and is a leader in hospitality, adaptive reuse, industrial training, and commercial office practices.

For the past decade, he has specialized in urban design, planning, and architectural projects that embrace place making and increase project values as well as community capital, having worked at Ehrenkrantz Eckstut and Kuhn in New York City and his own practice in Ithaca, NY.
