Architectural and engineering firm AE Works has acquired the local engineering firm Lamm Engineering – Emergent Regenerative Design. Lamm Engineering founder, Bernard Lamm will join the AE Works as Director of Design. The firm has also added several new members to their team – Michael Federici, LEED AP joins the firm as a project manager; Christopher Champagne joins AE Works as a mechanical engineer; and Damon Weiss, a 15-year industry veteran and registered civil engineer, bringing a broad range of civil engineering experience, including site design, water systems, transportation solutions and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

The American Hospital Association (AHA), in conjunction with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), has recognized James Construction’s Executive Vice President, Craig Stevenson, as a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC). This designation has been awarded to fewer than 500 professionals nationwide and James Construction is the only construction company in Western Pennsylvania to have a designated CHC professional.

Michael Corb, AIA has been named leader of Stantec’s education practice, encompassing both K-12 and higher education, in the Western Pennsylvania region. Corb, a senior associate at Stantec, began his design career with the firm in 1998, upon graduation from Tulane University’s Masters of Architecture program. Since that time he has designed and managed education projects ranging from local elementary school renovations to new academic facilities housing advanced research programs for major universities.
Urban Design Associates has been selected as the lead consultant for the West Riverfront Park Master Plan and Pedestrian Bridge Master Plan in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. These initiatives are an outgrowth of UDA’s South of Broadway Strategic Master Plan, completed in January 2013.
Two Facility Design Awards of Excellence have been given to WTW Architects by the Association of College Unions International at the ACUI’s annual meeting earlier this year. The design awards are for the renovation and expansion of Louisiana State University’s Student Union and Penn State University’s Pattee Library Knowledge Commons. WTW has won 11 ACUI Awards of Excellence over the past 8 years.
