Constructed in 1909 and the oldest still-functioning building at the University of Pittsburgh’s Oakland campus, Thaw Hall is home to the university’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. We renovated existing classrooms and office space to create two contemporary lecture halls with an efficient, shared demonstration preparation room. Our team also developed room for storage space, ADA compliant restrooms, new mechanical system, and an informal learning suite.
