The Pittsburgh Theological Seminary aspired to modernize Barbour Library while staying true to the architectural style of their campus. As the largest theological library in the northeast, space for their collection was critical, but the library needed more flexibility to function beyond being a home to books. We created a thoughtful balance of public and private spaces introduced by an atrium entrance and grand skylight that welcome a flood of natural light to both levels.
