September 9, 2021

Post Category | News

Nominations due Thursday, October 7th, 5:00pm.

The AIA Pittsburgh Governance Committee is compiling a list of nominated and solicited names for the following positions for the 2022 AIA Pittsburgh Board of Directors.

  • (3-4) Directors (3-year term, 2022-2024, renewable once)
  • (1-2) Associate AIA Directors (1-year term, 2022, renewable once)

Board membership requires time and commitment. It also provides an opportunity to help shape your Chapter as we continue to grow and evolve. Board membership offers leadership opportunities, strategic thinking and creative problem solving skill development, as well as learning how the local chapter connects to state and national issues that architects can affect. Responsibilities and expectations of Board members can be found below.

Anyone can apply, though we are particularly seeking candidates this year with the following skills:

  • Sustainability expertise
  • Business acumen / entrepreneurship
  • Regional perspective (outside Pgh metro)
  • Non-traditional perspectives

How to Apply

If you are an AIA member in good standing and interested in being considered for one of the open positions (or have a recommendation of a member), please submit: your resume and in 100 words of less tell us why you want to be on the board, including what skills you bring, by 5:00pm October 7th to: Joseph Chaffin, AIA, Chairman of the Governance Committee: JChaffin@mbakerintl.com

The Process

The Governance Committee will review nominees for skills and experience the Board needs to ensure we have a robust and diverse representation of our membership. We seek members from large and small firms, in and outside the city, those in traditional and non-traditional practice. AIA Pittsburgh supports diversity, equity and inclusion in our board. Apply. Finalists will be contacted for in-person meetings.
