AIA Pittsburgh’s annual continuing education conference and exhibitor show is a great way to spend the day with other architects and engineers, earn continuing education credits, and catch up on trends in the industry. A Collaborative Event Comes to Pittsburgh

When AIA Pittsburgh first learned of this global event with the hard-to-pronounce name, the office knew it could be a great opportunity for the region’s architects and designers. But it turned out to be much more. Step 1: PRACTICE PRONUNCIATION Pecha Kucha. Pay-cha Koo-cha? Pee-ka Kah-cha? No, no, no. Pecha Kucha Night (pronoucned pay-chalk-cha) was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham Architecture in Tokyo. It was an event conceived as an informal place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work to the public. PechaKucha Night Pittsburgh Vol. 12

PechaKucha Night Pittsburgh vol. 12 was a huge success! Thank you to all who attended, presented, and enjoyed, and thank you to the Union Project for hosting us! We had a total of nine presenters, each with a unique presentation. The first presenter was Brigette Davitt, and her presentation was entitled “Chimera”.  The second presenter of the evening was Mike Roy, whose presentation was entitled “Do Worse to Do Better”. Third up was Raymond Bowman, a member of the Young Architects Forum, presenting his “Electric Cars and Roadside Architecture”.
