Wiping the slate clean, rebooting, resolving.  January is a great time to set the tone for the rest of the year.  Set goals, identify opportunities to share your work with the world.  After setting your yearly goals, don’t forget to renew your membership and make sure you’ve accounted for all your continuing education credits.

Streetsblog has selected Strawberry Way in Downtown Pittsburgh as The Best American Street Transformation of 2016 as part of Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s Envision Downtown that included outdoor seating and a new mural by artist Deanna Mance painted directly on the street itself.

AIA Membership Referral Program – Members who refer a prospective new member have a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card. Prizes are awarded monthly. Use this form to be eligible.

“Citizen Design” is the 2017 theme of this annual exhibit of architecture, design, and art. Entries will be showcased on AIA.org and at AIA headquarters in Washington, DC. Emerging professionals are encouraged to contribute their submissions.  Deadline is January 9.

The AIA Diversity Recognition Program recognizes architects and others for exemplary commitment and contributions to diversifying the profession of architecture. Submissions will be accepted through the online submissions portal. Deadline is January 11.
