Western State Penitentiary Design Charrette

We are seeking interested architects and allied professionals to volunteer for a potential multi-stage Design Charrette for the future use of the Western State Penitentiary / SCI Pittsburgh. AIA Pittsburgh has been in conversation with the PA Department of Historic Preservation and the Department of General Services, which have responded positively to a design process that will identify redevelopment options for this unique property on the Ohio River. AIA Pittsburgh proposes to initiate and facilitate a multi-stage charrette to develop multiple redevelopment options for the property.
