Why Should You Learn About Passive House?
Building owners and developers in Western Pennsylvania are designing for Passive Housecertification, and high–profile projects like the Carrick Carnegie Library and Morningside Crossing need qualified builders and contractors. Passive House is the world’s most rigorous building energy standard, and market leaders like New York City and Toronto haveintegrated/mandated Passive House principles for all new construction. This training will prepare contractors, construction managers, developers, project managers, and tradespeople to build to the technically rigorous Passive House standard, andbecome officially certified as a Passive House Tradesperson. Participants will be listed in the Passive House Institute’s database upon passing the exam, in addition to being showcased on the Green Building Alliance website.
Passive House is a High Growth, National Building Market
Passive House optimizes light, air, and thermal energy of a building, reducing energy use by as much as 75%. Passive House principles can be applied to all types of buildings and prove especially lucrative within the commercial building sector, but thorough training is required to achieve it. Passive House principles can also be used to achieve other high-value green building standards (i.e. LEED v4 and Living Building Challenge).
Based on the international Passive House Institute, this 4-day training combines lectures with hands on workshops in two separate 2-day modules.
If you are looking for an introduction to Passive House technology basics, GBA invites you to audit the first two topics of Day 1. This is ideal for owners or developers looking to learn about the business case for Passive House and its long term returns on investment. Lunch is included and will serve as an opportunity to network with our master trainers (Passive House experts) and other training participants.
