Salvaged, antique White Oak timbers are the primary structural members for two modern, sloped-roof additions to an existing single family residence in rolling Western Pennsylvania farmland. Adding material warmth and a contextualizing vernacular the timber framing plays off new steel window walls with expansive views of the landscape and the site’s existing 1910 bank barn, emphasizing a family’s multi-generational attachment to its homestead.
