AIA-MBA Joint Committee

About

Chartered in 1965, the AIA-MBA Joint Committee provides a unique forum for Architects, General Contractors, and Owners to meet and discuss existing conditions of the construction industry. As a result of this forum, a set of guidelines was created to reflect the best practices for procedures involving drawings and specifications, bidding, contract documents, and administrative procedures during construction.

The AIA-MBA Best Practices Guide has evolved over time, adapting to the industry as it has changed. The Joint Committee is poised to continue investigating, researching, and developing recommended and impartial best practices for the benefit of the Western Pennsylvania construction industry.

The Joint Committee could not have achieved its respected status without the dedicated leaders that comprise this working group from both AIA Pittsburgh and the Master Builders’ Association. To view the Joint Committee roster click here.

Committee Meetings

Committee meetings are held from September to May, meeting on the last Wednesday evening of each month. Also, there is an annual summer event honoring the recipient of the Kling Award.

For further and future details on committee meetings and events, visit the AIA Pittsburgh Events Calendar.

The AIA MBA Joint Committee is creating a resource guide for our region. Please take this survey to place a project on our radar to be considered for this case study guide.
